THE ART OF LIKABILTY

Likability is an interesting concept. Some people immediately get it and know why this skillset is so important. Others are repelled because they associate it with “people pleasing” or winning some popularity contest.

On the contrary. Likability is about liking yourself, liking the work you do, liking the people and relationships in your life and having them like you

Think about it, what’s more important than relationships? What’s more important than the interactions you have with others? The interactions you have with yourself?

Nothing.

If we have strong relationships with ourselves and others this world becomes much more beautiful.

A lever is a tool that can lift a heavy object with less effort. It takes 3 things: a beam, a fulcrum, and a little effort. Likability Levers are tools that can be used to overcome challenges within ourselves and with others.

Even the hardest of relationships and social interactions can be moved forward by applying the right Likability Lever. They are the skillset and the mindset to move your life forward. We teach the internal game and the external game.

Just like Archimedes said “Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world”. This applies to our life with Likability Levers. How does one get over self-doubt? How does one excel in leadership? How does one become charismatic? How does one become a magnetic public speaker? How do we get students to like going to school?

It’s all about applying the right Likability Lever in the right moment in the right way.

Now, a fascinating fact about a lever is that if you place the fulcrum in the wrong place it won’t give you the leverage you need to move an object. Where you place it, is extremely important.

Likeability Levers are like that too. The right words said the wrong way won’t yield you the same results. Imagine what it’s like when someone says “I love you” with true kindness in their heart versus saying the same words, “I love you”, through gritted teeth with contempt.

Every day our team is learning and sharing the most relevant and effective ways to teach and use Likability Levers to improve leadership, relationships, public speaking skills, mental health, and success.
